This woman stormed out of the vets office today yelling racist comments because. . .
I was in a veterinarians office today to pick up some medicines for my dog when things heated up rather quickly. It is important to say that this clinic just happens to be a low cost animal clinic. They do not make appointments for anyone. They are strictly first come first serve or so they say. There are also a few things I really do not know about the situation. Those things being that I don't know how this woman's day had been up to that point or her past experiences with anything in the world. Also I do not know how long she actually waited for. That being said I saw the entire argument right in front of me. Lets put it this way. Had someone spit on someone it could have gotten on me. SO I heard everything and I don't even know what to say. Please tell me what you think.
So today I strolled in and waited for my turn to talk to someone. And I can say that the office was super busy. That kind of busy that could place people with a busy schedule of their own in a OMG I could be doing XYZ right now and the line doesn't seem to be moving kind of frame of mind. That being said I finally was able to speak to one of the two ladies sitting behind the counter. I barely got to tell the woman behind the counter that I just needed to pick up my dogs medicines before she was saying you need a mask, if you dont have one you can go to the gas station at the end of the plaza for a dollar. EEEK one mask for a dollar. . . The shade of it all.
Anyway, she starts getting my medicines ready and i walk up to the little store and sure enough this guy had a box of 100 blue pleated masks that he bought for 8.99 and was brazen enough to just pull them from the box one by one for a dollar. I will share my thoughts about that in another post. lol I head back to the vets office.
Once I got there the woman had seen me standing and waiting for the medicines and she calls me up to the front of the theater. About 5 feet from me a very upset dark skinned woman and her cute little white puppy in her arms were standing waiting. The second person working up front was trying to help two people at the same time. Which happened to be this woman, we will call her LaQuisha from now on in this article. The woman behind the desk we will call Alice from now on in this article.
As Alice was helping both women at the same time LaQuisha says out of no where as Alice is printing a reciept and handing it to the second customer woman, “you know I been here for a Fucking hour sitting back there by the wall.” She proceeds to gather her things and says she’s leaving and will never return. However two minutes later she returns back to that same place she was standing to ruin Alices day. LaQuisha says “ I see that you keep black fucking women waiting behind all these white people” “ I was fucking right back there sitting for over an hour and. . . before she could speak Alice says that she will finish up with this other woman next to her and will cash her out as well.
LaQuisha thought about it for a second and says okay. As Alice finishes up with the other woman at the counter she says outloud that her bill was $80.24. LaQuisha said “I’m not trying to hear that. . . $80 fucking dollars for what.” Then Alice tries to explain what had cost that much before LaQuisha pulls out her card and says this. “Oh I guess this is because I’m black. First you make black folks wait in the back of the room then you charge me huge fee’s and shit.” Alice attempts to tell LaQuisha to not cuss at her, and that only fuels the flame and brings with it a whole line of profanity that I wont share with you today. Then LaQuisha pulls her card from the machine. As she’s walking out she says much louder so the cashier can still hear her that “This stupid little racist bitch makes black people wait at the back of the building and I was in front of this woman right here who checked out 5 minutes ago. I’m never coming back to this place”.
What are your thoughts? I can tell you that it happened to be almost 1230 today when I saw this. 1230 happens to be the time this vet closes. Since its a lowcost vet clinic I assume there will be a million people in there tring to get vet care. I also know that they only have one doctor that handles everyone. So I already knnow and understand that if I have anything to do that remotely is time sensitive then I best not be in going into the low cost animal clinic, a doctors office that handles medicaid or Kohls department store. In all situations I already know that anything else I have to do probably wont get done. Because the doctors office thatt handles medicaid is bound to be busy as hell, the low cost vet clinic will be busy as hell and Kohls will have me busy shopping. I mean it takes some serious will power to walk into a department store and only go to the one section that has the item you need and no others.
Also, it could be or could not be important to say that the room had about 10 white women waiting and 3 Indian women. There were no other black folks so I can not comfirm if this is how the vet handles things. Your guess is as good as mine on that. But what are your thoughts?
